The primary functions of a
police department are to protect life, liberty and
property; to enforce all laws and ordinances; to
preserve the peace and public order; to prevent and
repress crime; to detect violations of the law; to
apprehend violators and to prosecute those
apprehended.
The Brent Police Department is a full time law
enforcement agency. Our officers on patrol regularly
frequent local businesses and talk with citizens in
the neighborhoods in order to provide a police
presence deterrent. While our officers respond to
events within our community, we have excellent
relations with our neighboring cities and county law
enforcement agencies and we can have a multitude of
officers on the site of any crime or
accident scene within minutes. And of course, we
reciprocate by having our officers respond to any
appropriate emergencies in their jurisdictions.
Brent, Alabama is a wonderful place with the
majority of crimes being minor traffic tickets and
domestic disputes that are resolved through the
Brent City Court. All of our officers are graduates
of the police academy and seasoned veterans. We’re
